5Review: Frank was very accommodating and flexible in the schedule. It started raining heavily and he adjusted our sights to do more indoor locations during the rain. I had some specific questions about train tickets on another tour I’m taking with someone else. Frank took the time to go out of his way to take us to the high speed rail station and translate so that we could exchange our vouchers for that actual train tickets. This was not part of the tour. 5Review: My wife and I had four tours with Frank Law: two 4 hour tours (Kowloon and the New Territories) and two 8 hour tours (Lantau Island and Macau). Being a Hong Kong native himself, Frank knew all the tricks of getting around the city. For instance, he arranged for us to visit Big Buddha by taking a special taxi up the BACK side of Lantau Island through the area forbidden to tour buses. We got there right when it opened BEFORE all the other tourists arrived. When we were finished, we went DOWN the gondola on the front side of the island that the other tourists were using to come UP. We saw the really long lines that we avoided by using Frank as our guide. He also knew when to go to the many other sites we visited to avoid the crowds and traffic problems. We really appreciated his insider-knowledge about these things – he made our visit to the Hong Kong area much more efficient.
Frank’s knowledge of Hong Kong AND Macau was extensive. His command of English is excellent and we had zero problem understanding each other. 3Review: Tour was OK, nothing special. Having never traveled to Macau, we did not realize we needed passports to go from HK to Macau. It was not until we were at the ferry terminal that Frank asked if we had them. This info should have been covered @ the hotel. The historical info was VERY detailed, perhaps too. Much time was spent on public buses, time wasted. We were not informed as to why we were in the stand by line for the return ferry until we asked several times. Frank’s response: I apologize again for my carelessness(passport issue)!In Macau, I tried the best to introduce history and current affairs as always. As the tour was your last tour of a long cruise holiday & you had a long walking tour just the day before, taking bus was better than walking. Taxi was too small for the group of 5.I should explain to you earlier for the normal stand by line issue. I’ll revise the programme, eg using limousine, improve the communication with clients.
